Nghe An Province invests to “Nghe An Tourism Year
People's Committee of Nghe An Province has decided to invest 42 projects improving and upgrading infrastructure, tourist sites, hotels... with total of invested capital about VND1.9 billion to serving tourism year 2005. In which, state budget capital make up over VND1 billion and the remain one mobilized from enterprises beyond and within Nghe An Province. Nam Dan District has 9 projects executed, Vinh City has 5 projects... and other projects are also urgently deploying. Now, 600 workers, cookers, the room staffs and waiters were trained. Nghe An also sends people to learn Japanese, Thai.... and trains taxi-driver staff in order to serve visitors attending "Nghe An Tourism Year".
Khanh Hoa appealing for industrial investment
Khanh Hoa Province is well-known for its wonderful Nha Trang Bay which is acknowledged as one of the 29 world most beautiful Bays, many other sceneries and historical sites. Moreover, its industry is also very potential. Thus, in the first days of year 2005, the Ministry of Industry in conjunction with the province's People's Committee organized a meeting with domestic and foreign enterprises for investment appellation. For the past year, Khanh Hoa Province has enjoyed high industrial and service growth rate. Industry represents 40.75% of the province's GDP. Last year, industrial revenues totaled as much as VND4,700 billion, up by 20% over 2003. 2004 was the 5th successive year the province had seen industrial growth rate of over 20%. Key industrial sectors of Khanh Hoa are seafood processing; shipbuilding; manufacturing of tobacco, sugar, textile and garment, building materials, aqua feed and fishing equipments. The province has created favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investors. In terms of FDI, Khanh Hoa has attracted 52 projects with registered capital of US$369.8 million. The Government are planning to build Van Phong International Container Port in Khanh Hoa. As estimated, capacity of the port was up to 17.5-17.8 TEU/year. Cam Ranh Airport with the largest and longest runway in Vietnam will be improved to become an international airport. With beautiful Nha Trang Bay, the province can develop various tourism forms. Nha Trang City is also a center for many institutes, universities and colleges, good for application of scientific researches.
Festival to be held for Uncle Ho's birthday
Nghe An Province, the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, will host a big festival from May 18th to 25th in celebration of the President's 115th birthday The Sen Village Festival 2005 will include a festival featuring cultures of various ethnic groups in Viet Nam, entitled "Ho Chi Minh with ethnic groups", a book exhibition-cum-fair under the same theme, with more than 60 booths displaying publications (mainly works about Uncle Ho) published by 42 publishing houses. Films about Uncle Ho and cultural identities of Viet Nam's ethnic groups will be screened for a week, and local people will have a chance to meet actors who have played the President in numerous films and plays about him. Also professional and amateur artists will perform for local people during the week-long festival.
Nghe An - a central tourism destination this year
Now, Nghe An Province focus to preparations for the announcement of the Nghe An Tourism Year on February 24. Activities to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the country, tourism-culture-sports festivals and the closing ceremony of the Nghe An Tourism Year will also be held. Director of the provincial Tourism Service Hoang Trung Chau said that together with this year's important tourism event, the 975th anniversary of Nghe An Province will be held on February 23, the 115th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh and the inauguration of the Tourism Week and Lotus Village Festival will take place on May 19. Other tourism activities will also include the Mai Hac De Temple Festival, the Qua Son Temple Festival, an international tourism seminar, the Trade-Tourism exhibition-cum-fair, and the cultural days of ethnic minorities from the northwestern, Central Highlands and southwestern regions. To prepare for the Tourism Year, Nghe An Province has organised many local, inter-provincial and international tours along the East-West corridor, namely Vinh-Cua Lo-Dao Ngu, Vinh-Pu Mat National Park-Flora and Fauna Genes Protection Zone-Kem Fall, Vinh City tour, Vinh-Phong Nha Cave-Former Imperial Hue City-Hoi An (central Quang Nam Province), Vinh-Hanoi-Ha Long-Hai Phong, Vinh-Vientiane (Laos)-Noong Khai (Thailand), and Vinh-ThaKhec (Laos)-Nakhonphanom (Thailand). In addition to five return flights from Vinh to Ho Chi Minh City per week, Vietnam Airlines is to open the Vinh-Hanoi, Vinh-Nakhonphanom (Thailand), and Vinh-Hainan (China), and increase the number of flights and reduce airfares during the Tourism Week. The Vietnam Railway Corporation will increase the number of trains to Vinh City during the Tourism Year. To develop tourism in the province until 2010, it has poured VND 1,895 billion in 42 projects to build and upgrade works for the Tourism Year. Traditional destinations include the Cua Lo beach tourism centre, the Vinh city tourism centre, the Nam Dan tourism centre, the Pu Mat national park tourism zone, and the Quy Chau-Que Phong eco-history and culture tourism zone with almost 300 hotels and guest houses accommodating nearly 5,500 rooms. Cua Lo and Vinh City have almost 20 one to three-star hotels. Nghe An tourism is striving to welcome 1.2 million visitors and earn a turnover of VND 270 billion this year.
